Melissa Hayn, a paralegal in the firm’s Fishkill office, has worked for Littman Krooks for three years. She supports our attorneys in all our practice areas but spends the bulk of her time on Medicaid applications for seniors and assisting the attorneys in preparing guardianship petitionship for individuals with developmental disabilities.
“I love working with the clients,” she says. “I spend a lot of time on the phone with people who have a spouse or a parent in a nursing home. It’s an emotional time for them, and I find it very fulfilling to help someone get through that stressful period and to find ways of easing the financial strain.”
Melissa received her paralegal certification from Dutchess Community College, following graduation from the University of Albany with a major in history. Prior to joining our firm, she worked for attorney Linda Geraci, who practiced special needs law in Fishkill for many years and, for a time, was “of counsel” to Littman Krooks.
Melissa has always lived in Dutchess County and particularly enjoys supporting local fundraising walks for the Alzheimer’s Association and the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, at which she also represents Littman Krooks. She spends her leisure time hiking, playing tennis, and bowling.
